Women of Andorra. Roser Jordana Mallol
This year’s issue of the “Dones Andorranes” (Women of Andorra) series pays tribute to Roser Jordana Mallol, one of the people who has made the most efforts to promote tourism in the Principality of Andorra. She has even come to be regarded as an “institution for tourism in Andorra”.
She began her career in 1965, when she was put in charge of the Casa d’Andorra in Paris. She was subsequently linked to the “Sindicat d’Iniciativa”, where she was dedicated to singing the Principality’s praises, since she felt agenuine passion for the country and never missed an opportunity to promote it with her characteristic natural and spontaneous qualities.
After retiring and up until the time of her death, she was deputy chairperson of the “Fundació Clara Rabassa” and vice-chairperson of the Andorra-France “Aliança”.
Those who werelucky enough to have worked with her or been part of her life emphasise her pleasant, cheerful nature and the huge amount of energy she exuded.
She is remembered for her work, her staying power and the effortshe put into achieving her goals, whichoftenmeant not only breaking with convention, but also opening new avenues for future generations.
In light of her personality and dedication, the tribute paid to her in 2009 by the Andorran Government was well-deserved.
