Malaga, an andalusian town par excellence, is world known as the capital of the Costa del Sol and during the Exhibition days will become the centre of philately as features in the logo of the announcing poster: Un mar de sellos; the city centre, its streets and squares will become for a couple of days the neuralgic centre of national and international philately hosting the scenario for España 2006.Exposicion Mundial de Filatelia. The nucleus of the exhibition will be located at the main entrance of the harbour where nearly 1,000 exhibition frames will be set up as well as the institutional stand of Correos, the Philatelic Literature one and others for the reception of collections and a room for expert’s meetings; the Constitución square is devoted to the institutional stand of the Philatelic Bureau and for the stamp presentations and the Court of Honour. Finally, in the Marina square and in part of the Alameda Principal will be set up the design stands of various institutions and firms. In the announcing poster for España 2006.Exposicion Mundial de Filatelia, stand out the blue and yellow, both colours being the corporate colours of Correos and also the colours of Malaga, a colourful tourist city, qualities which feature in the stamp by means of a deck chair and a bunch of jasmine inserted in a posy of biznaga (a typical flower from Malaga) resembling a parasol. Both in the stamp as in the surrounding design of the souvenir sheet appears the logo of the exhibition where the 06 resemble two sailing boats whose waving wakes look like a cancellation mark. Besides the reference to Malaga, the dates of the exhibition are also mentioned as well as the logo, “la mar de sellos” and the logos of the Ministry of Fomento and the Malaga Town Hall.
