“Millennium Falcon Pack + Han Solo stamp”

Once again this saga, one of the most popular in the history of cinema, and with the greatest impact on society, features on a stamp issued as part of the Correos series dedicated to Cinema.

Pride of place on the new mini sheet goes to one of the most important characters in the movies, whose story is also told in his own prequel movie:

Han Solo, a smuggler who became the leader of the Alliance to Restore the Republic and who played a key role in defeating the Galactic Empire.

His image is inevitably linked to his beloved ship, the Millennium Falcon, which appears on the mini sheet in the form of a sketch, with some of its parts marked with annotations. Its ramshackle appearance concealed extensive modifications, making it a high-speed craft with a hyperdrive engine that could outpace the Imperial Star Destroyers.

The stamp features a photograph of the actor Alden Ehrenreich, who plays Han Solo in the movie Han Solo: A Star Wars Story, which will be in cinemas soon.

The same character was previously played by Harrison Ford. In the first movies of the saga, a young Ford took on the role of this unique character, who goes on to marry Princess Leia and is essential to the story.

It’s hard to think of Han Solo without his faithful companion Chewbacca, the Millennium Falcon co-pilot and fan favourite.

George Lucas, the creator of the saga, drew inspiration from his great friend Francis Ford Coppola to create this character.

In 2015, we saw an older Han Solo, 30 years after the Battle of Endor, in the movie Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
